The Last Voyage - Audio CD synopsis

Coming up early next year is another EXCLUSIVE release from BBC Audio. The Last Voyage is read by DAVID TENNANT and will be available from January 7th, 2010 - priced £9.99. Here's the synopsis:
The TARDIS materialises on board the maiden voyage of a pioneering space cruiser, travelling from Earth to the planet Eternity. The Doctor has just started exploring the huge, hi-tech Interstitial Transposition Vehicle when there is a loud bang, a massive jolt and a flash of light. Shortly afterwards, he discovers that nearly all the passengers and crew have disappeared. Unless the Doctor and flight attendant Sugar MacAuley can take control and steer the ship, they could crash-land - or keep slipping through space forever. And as if that wasn't enough, something awful awaits them on Eternity...

Written exclusively for audio by Dan Abnett and read by David Tennant, The Last Voyage features the Doctor as played by David Tennant in the acclaimed hit series from BBC Television.

Hmm, sounds exciting. A fabulous idea for the plot and read by David Tennant! The audio books have a greater authenticity when Tennant reads them. Some other members of the Dr Who cast seem to have difficulty in actually reading, never mind putting some life and emotion into the task! Tennant never fails to bring the words to life and his obvious connection to the role give the whole exercise a sense of authority. Such a pity he's leaving the role of The Doctor, he's gonna be one hell of a hard act to follow.
Looking forward to this book enormously.
