MATT SMITH is a guest on tonight's edition of Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, click on the pic above for a bigger version. Here's a sample of what's in store:
New Time Lord Matt Smith talks about becoming the Doctor: "My Doctor [is] clumsy, a little reckless, [but] becomes more assured as the series develops." He also reveals: "I couldn't tell anyone for three months," and says: "To my mind it's the best part in British TV history." He tells Jonathan that he took advice from David Tennant and that he's eager to take on his mantle: "I spoke to David briefly, he said 'enjoy the ride'." On the TARDIS, he reveals there have been some changes: "It's bigger on the inside, has different levels, other rooms including a library, [and is] a different shade of blue outside." Finally, he says he's here to stay: "I hope to do at least another year, it's a wonderful part and I want to keep it." And there's an exclusive sneak preview of the Doctor's encounter with vampires.

| DAVID TENNANT in "Single Father" |

DAVID TENNANT, who older readers might remember was the actor who played the Tenth Doctor, is set to star in Single Father - a new drama from BBC One. The cast also includes Suranne Jones (Mona Lisa in The Sarah Jane Adventures) and Neve McIntosh who is set to appear in one of the upcoming episodes of Doctor Who. Written by Mick Ford (Ashes To Ashes, William And Mary), Single Father is a touching yet humorous drama which tells the story of Dave (David Tennant), a photographer facing the seemingly impossible job of bringing up four kids alone after the sudden death of his wife, Rita. Things get even more complicated when he begins to fall in love with his wife's best friend, Sarah (played by Suranne Jones). Single Father asks how soon is too soon to fall in love again?

The BBC have issued the synopsis for the second episode of the new series, The Beast Below. Here's what they say about the story due for broadcast on April 10 at 6.15pm: The Doctor takes Amy to the distant future, where she finds Britain in space. Starship UK houses the future of the British people, as they search the stars for a new home. But as Amy explores, she encounters the terrifying Smilers and learns a deadly truth inside the Voting Booth. The Doctor is played by Matt Smith and Amy Pond by Karen Gillan. Episode two is written by Steven Moffat.

| Doctor Who Adventures - the relaunch |

As we reported last week, Doctor Who Adventures magazine is set to re-launch on Thursday 1 April. Here's what's going on:
Inside the revamped issue, which goes on sale two days before the new Doctor’s first episode airs on BBC, is the first in a series of exclusive diary reports from actor Matt Smith. Issue 160 of the magazine sees Matt write about auditioning for the part of The Doctor and meeting The Doctor’s new companion, Amy Pond, played by Karen Gillan. In addition there is a sneak peek at The Doctor’s first episode, The Eleventh Hour, a star interview with Matt Smith, a free TARDIS clock and the chance to win your very own life-size Dalek.
Other new features include a brand new ‘Fast Fact’ page, which allows readers to cut out and collect fact files on all their favourite Doctor Who characters and a fresh new Doctor Who Adventures comic strip. There is also the introduction of a secret code; this runs throughout the magazine and allows readers to decode hidden Doctor Who facts and information. Favourites, such as puzzles, quizzes and posters also feature.
The magazine will retain its weekly cover price of £2.10 and continue to give away Doctor Who free gifts, the first of which is a TARDIS clock. Thanks to BBC Worldwide

BBC America have announced they will be screening an original program looking at Doctor Who before their premiere of The Eleventh Hour. Here's the synopsis for Doctor Who: The Ultimate Guide:
Just in time for the U.S. premiere of Doctor Who, journey into the Doctor Who universe with BBC AMERICA's original program, Doctor Who: The Ultimate Guide. The program is an original, all-access look inside the world's biggest, most successful sci-fi television program. Doctor Who: The Ultimate Guide premieres Saturday, April 17th at 8 pm/7c on BBC AMERICA, followed by the series premiere of the new Doctor Who at 9pm/8c.
