Taking place on
Doctor Who's 48th anniversary this year is an exciting event at the
University of Hertfordshire.
Visions From Behind The Sofa: Doctor Who is a special symposium about the show, its history, the mythology and its enduring appeal.
The event will see the
world premiere of Chris Chapman's new documentary
Taken Out of Time, which looks back on the making of the 1979
Doctor Who story
Shada. Filmed largely on location around the River Cam in Cambridge, this film features interviews with
Shada stars
Tom Baker and Daniel Hill as well as crewmembers Ralph Wilton, Les McCullum and Olivia Bazalgette.
The documentary will be included on
THE LEGACY BOX, which includes
Shada and the documentary
More Than 30 Years in the TARDIS, due for release next year from
2|entertain.
Visions From Behind The Sofa: Doctor Who takes place on
November 23rd and also features a specially filmed video from Jo Grant herself,
Katy Manning. The following The following guest speakers will be in attendance:
• Toby Hadoke - Writer and comedian (Moths Ate My Doctor Who Scarf). And Doctor Who fan.
• Chris Chapman - documentary maker for the "classic" Doctor Who DVD range (Chris also made the BAFTA nominated My Life: Stammer School for the BBC). And Doctor Who fan.
• Cameron K McEwan - founder of Blogtor Who and PhD student at the University of Aberdeen. And Doctor Who fan.
