| Walk For Lis |
Edward Russell, the Senior Brand Executive for BBC Wales, is walking from Cardiff to London in order to raise money for the Meadow House hospice who recently cared for Sarah Jane Smith actress, Elisabeth Sladen. This fund~raising event starts on Sep 3 and Edward has released details of his walk:
I'm walking in order to raise money for Meadow House Hospice. This NHS-funded facility recently cared for Elisabeth Sladen, known to many of you as Sarah Jane Smith from the TV series Doctor Who.
Like many of her fans and friends, I was deeply saddened by Lis' death in April 2011 and I hope to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful cause. More details and a target sum are to follow.
Starting on Saturday 3 September, I will walk from the BBC's Upper Boat studios in Cardiff (where The Sarah Jane Adventures was filmed), aiming to arrive at the BBC Television Centre (where Lis first filmed Doctor Who) in London the following Friday. I will largely be following the National Cycling Route No. 4.

| "Closing Time" director talks to Blogtor |
Director Steve Hughes, the man behind the camera for the penultimate tale in Doctor Who Series 6 Part 2, has been chatting with Blogtor about his episode Closing Time. The story, featuring the Cybermen, was written by Gareth Roberts ( The Lodger, The Unicorn & The Wasp amongst others) and sees the return of James Corden as Craig Owens (last seen in The Lodger).
"It's like Abbot and Costello meet the Cybermen"
Speaking to Blogtor, Hughes revealed that Closing Time is "very funny," explaining, "Matt [Smith] and James [Corden] are a great double act. It's like Abbot and Costello meet the Cybermen, sort of. Matt and James work really well together because the Doctor really enjoys having 'a mate'".
The Episode 12 director added, "There's a lot of humour in Closing Time but there's some real emotion in there too. I grew up watching the show, I'm a genuine fan and working on the show really was a dream come true."
