New writers, stars and directors for S8

https://www.flickr.com/photos/mugim0e/sets/72157642563478994/The latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine, out tomorrow, reveals some new names for Doctor Who Series 8. Officially confirmed for writing duties are Mark Gatiss (The Unquiet Dead, Victory of the Daleks) and Gareth Roberts (The Lodger, The Unicorn & the Wasp) for Episodes 3 and 6 respectively for the new series starring Peter Capaldi as The Doctor. Directing both stories is Paul Murphy (Wizards Vs Aliens). 

Guest stars for the Gatiss episode include: Tom Riley (St Trinian’s 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold), Trevor Cooper (Revelation of the Daleks), Ian Hallard (An Adventure In Space & Time) and Roger Ashton-Griffiths (Game of Thrones) amongst others. On his casting in the show, Riley tweeted:

"Well that's out then. I've been a massive fan since I was even smaller than Jenna. Very excited. @Markgatiss's script is awesome. #DoctorWho"

The Roberts story features: Nigel Betts (Emmerdale), and Jimmy Vee (Voyage of the Damned) amongst others. In other news, another new director for the show has emerged, Paul Wilmshurst (Strike Back, Da Vinci's Demons). Doctor Who Series 8 airs later this year (starting late August/early September).
