The BBC have released an image from the first episode of Doctor Who Series 8 starring Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman - click on the image above for a bigger version. Deep Breath, the first installment of the new series, airs on August 23 worldwide and has a running time of 75 mins (approx.). It receives a world premiere on Aug 7 in Cardiff, though tickets have now sold out for the event.
Also announced today is the casting of comedian, actor and broadcaster
Sanjeev Bhaskar (pictured, right) who joins the cast of the
Doctor Who Series 8 finale. Speaking about the role, Bhaskar said: “I’m thrilled to have made a small contribution to and now be part of the
Doctor Who universe. Another dream box ticked!”
Current showrunner Steven Moffat added: “I’m completely thrilled that Sanjeev Bhaskar is coming to the aid of the Doctor. The danger is never deadlier than in a finale episode, and the Time Lord is going to need all the help he can get!”
