Doctor Who Series 9: The Magician's Apprentice synopsis [UPDATE]

The BBC have released the official synopsis for the first episode of Doctor Who Series 9, The Magician's Apprentice - check it out below. It airs on Sept 19 on BBC One at 7.40pm.

“Where is the Doctor?

When the skies of Earth are frozen by a mysterious alien force, Clara needs her friend. But where is the Doctor, and what is he hiding from?

As past deeds come back to haunt him, old enemies will come face-to-face, and for the Doctor and Clara survival seems impossible."

The episode stars: Peter Capaldi (The Doctor), Jenna Coleman (Clara), Michelle Gomez (Missy) and Jemma Redgrave (Kate Stewart); and is written by lead writer Steven Moffat.
