The Magician's Apprentice amassed a total of 2 million viewers making it the biggest season premiere ever for the channel.
In the UK, it was a slightly different story. Overnight viewing figures suggest that the episode was watched by 4.6 million (with 3.36 million watching live) - the final consolidated figure will be available next week. The Magician's Apprentice was the top rated show for the BBC on the day.
